I remember watching this as a kid and wondering, WTF? There were a few of these broadcasts - I think on ABC? - in which God was anthropomorphized and made into a rando. They seemed sacrilegious but were meant to get you thinking.

Good episode with Ramon Bieri and Emilio Estevez working well together. Ramon was in a number of episodes of insight as well as appearing with Martin Sheen Emilio's father in Badlands.

It’s odd seeing Harvey Korman in a dramatic role.

I cannot find the documentary anywhere. It was only shown on public television one time and has since been removed from broadcast. Many like myself missed the broadcast. It’s not even available on Amazon streaming either. Why are you promoting it when it’s nowhere to be seen ??? I even joined the mailing list with a question and it was never answered.

This was a good show.I went to a Baptist school on the 9th grade.They showed an episode one time.I wasLutheran as a teen.The next year some clips from Insight were shown as an object lesson in a teen gathering from several Lutheran Churches in a teen program.😊

I’ve been trying to find this show for years.

He lived ANOTHER 51 years after this! RIP, Bob Newhart.

The first Test tube baby Louise Brown was the first birth from IVF.

That was a very touching story. Bud Cort has been disgracefully underrated, tho I realize he’s had pretty decent success in his career. Glad of it, love him!! Such a scene stealer imo.

If Bruce Davison doesn't have a Lifetime Achievement Award from the academy, he should have at least TWO of them.

As a young, sensitive, introspective 12-year-old, in 1976, I can honestly say that this episode made a dramatic and lasting impression on me. As did so many others. This series is a national treasure. I'm so grateful that they are finally available to view again!

I am so so happy that these are available on UA-cam now. I tried to find these on VHS for 25 years. I started to question whether or not they really existed. So well produced, written and acted. As poignant now as they were when I watched then at 1 AM Sunday morning all through the 60s and 70s. Again, Thank you!

This show and Patchwork Family were a huge part of my 70’s memories. Hopefully, someone can unearth that show too.

Saw this in an alcohol / drug rehab when I was 21 in 1985. First time finding it since but never forgot it. Was wonderful then and is wonderful now. And if you’re curious … I got my act together, had successful career, family and semi-retired now.

I was sitting here on 7/17/24 and going down memory lane thinking of memorable shows from the 80s and this popped up in my memory. It's amazing to me to be able to find it and thanks to whoever made this available. I guess I'm getting old because I totally miss the 80s.

Such an intense episode. I felt so sorry for the sister character being put through this wringer as both her brother and mother were locked in such anger toward each other.

WOW! The Late Great Soap Opera Queen, Jeanne Cooper! And 2 of the kids from Eight is Enough, I think. A must see!

Deborah Winters came up with an interesting voice for this particular character, somewhat different than her normal voice at that time. She was GOOD!
